COMPASS TO CARE, A 501(C)(3) CHARITABLE ORGANIZATION, ENSURES CHILDREN, WHOSE FAMILIES HAVE A FINANCIAL NEED, CAN ACCESS LIFE-SAVING CANCER TREATMENT. BY MAKING TRAVEL TO AND FROM THE HOSPITAL FREE, WE SUPPORT THE FINANCIAL AND EMOTIONAL NEEDS OF PARENTS WHILE GIVING CHILDREN THE VERY BEST CHANCE TO BEAT CANCER.

KEEN CHICAGO IS A NONPROFIT 501(C)(3) ORGANIZATION AND IS AN AFFILIATE OF KEEN USA HEADQUARTERED IN WASHINGTON, DC. KEEN CHICAGO'S LOCAL BOARD OF DIRECTORS IS COMPRISED OF COMMUNITY LEADERS, PARENTS AND VOLUNTEERS WITH THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING SKILLS AND EXPERTISE TO THE ORGANIZATION HELPING TO ENSURE THAT IT REMAINS TRUE TO KEEN’S MISSION: PROVIDING FREE RECREATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES TO CHILDREN AND YOUNG ADULTS WITH DISABILITIES BY PAIRING THEM WITH TRAINED VOLUNTEERS FOR FUN, NONCOMPETITIVE ACTIVITIES.

IMMIGRANT SERVICES OF CHAMPAIGN-URBANA, FORMERLY KNOWN AS CU FAIR, ARE WORKING WITH LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS SUCH AS THE CHAMPAIGN-URBANA PUBLIC HEALTH DISTRICT, PTA COUNCILS OF CHAMPAIGN AND URBANA, AND THE IMMIGRANT JUSTICE TASK FORCE OF THE UNITARIAN UNIVERSALIST CHURCH OF URBANA CHAMPAIGN AND OTHER FAITH-BASED ORGANIZATIONS TO HELP PROVIDE FOOD AND SUPPORT TO OUR IMMIGRANT AND REFUGEE FAMILIES.

THE WAYNE MCCLAIN PIPELINE FOUNDATION PROVIDES LEADERSHIP TRAINING, MENTORING, TUTORIAL SERVICES, AND SCHOLARSHIPS TO YOUTH AND THEIR FAMILIES IN THE CENTRAL ILLINOIS REGION. THE PROGRAM SERVES AS AN INTERFACE BETWEEN ACADEMICS AND FITNESS FOR LOW INCOME, LOW ACHIEVING YOUTH, 6-19 YEARS OF AGE WHO WERE ENROLLED IN A TITLE I SCHOOL. THE 217 309 INITIATIVE WAS DESIGNATED FOR TUTORIAL ASSISTANCE IN ALL EDUCATIONAL AREAS, WITH PARTICULAR FOCUS ON READING, WRITING, AND MATH SKILLS, WITH A SECONDARY PORTION BEING PROGRAMMED TO ENCOMPASS THE PRINCIPLES OF PHYSICAL FITNESS, INCLUDING ACTIVE PARTICIPATION IN ORGANIZED EXERCISES.

THE ACADEMY OF NUTRITION AND DIETETICS STRIVES TO IMPROVE THE NATION'S HEALTH AND ADVANCE THE PROFESSION OF DIETETICS THROUGH RESEARCH, EDUCATION AND ADVOCACY. THE ORGANIZATION ACCOMPLISHES THIS THROUGH MANY DIMENSIONS: PROVIDING RELIABLE AND EVIDENCE-BASED NUTRITION INFORMATION FOR THE PUBLIC, ACCREDITING UNDERGRADUATE AND GRADUATE PROGRAMS, CREDENTIALING DIETETICS AND NUTRITION PROFESSIONALS, ADVOCATING FOR PUBLIC POLICY, PUBLISHING A PEER-REVIEWED PERIODICAL: JOURNAL OF THE ACADEMY OF NUTRITION AND DIETETICS, AND GIVING BACK: THE FOUNDATION.
